The country’s national electoral commission on Sunday announced the conclusion of the voter registration exercise in Togdheer region, reported local media outlets.
The excise which took 28 days to complete saw the registration of 60 percent of the eligible voters in the region.
The electoral commission officials thanked the community for turning up in large numbers for registration exercise.
The provisional governor of the Togdheer region, Mohamed Ibrahim urged voters in other regions of Somaliland to turn up for registration.
The closing ceremony was attended by the representatives from three principal political parties in the country Wadani, Kulmiye and Ucid. The Somaliland general election is slated for March 2017
