The first commercial flight operated by Turkish Airlines landed in the Somaliland capital Hargeisa on Thursday, reported the local media.
According to the local media, the Turkish Airlines flight landed at the Egal International Airport.
This development comes after last week’s blast which punched a hole in the fuselage of a Daallo Airlines plane in Somalia’s capital Mogadishu.
The Somaliland government earlier this week announced it will tighten security at all airports in the country.
So far, Turkish Airways has not confirmed the launch of the flights to Hargeisa.
