The vice president Abdirahman Abdillahi Saylici on Monday received drought-relief donation from a delegation from Saudi Arabia, reported the local media.
This relief will be distributed to over 25,000 families in drought stricken areas of Somaliland.
The minister of finance Samsam Abdi Adan and the minister of religious affairs Sheikh Khalil Abdillahi Ahmed both expressed appreciation on behalf of the government of Somaliland for the generous donation.
Saylici revealed that Somaliland government had requested assistance from the Saudi government following the severe drought. He also pointed out that other Islamic countries had responded to Somaliland call for assistance.
