The municipal council of Hargeisa on Monday channelled 290,000 dollars towards the improvement of education and health sectors in the country.
The mayor of Hargeisa Abdirahman Mohamud Aidid said the funds would make it possible to meet prior agreed objectives in the respective sectors.
Aidid revealed that 140,000 dollars would go to education and the remaining 150,000 dollars would fund health projects.
Director General of the ministry of health Ahmed Omar Askar thanked the municipal council of Hargeisa for their co-operation. Askar said part of the funding will be used for construction of a new outpatient unit at the Hargeisa district hospital.
